For those of you who will be going away this summer we have opened up an option to register for individual days, to give the ability to attend beach training when you are in town.

VVL is pleased to announce open beach volleyball programming for kids of all ages and skill-level. Come have fun with your friends and learn a new sport!
This program is designed for players of all ages who want to stay active, have fun with friends, and who want to learn the challenging - but also extremely fun - sport of Beach Volleyball! Athletes in this program will improve their skills and enjoy the game of beach volleyball.
**This is a beginner level program and if kids are progressing or above the level of play they will be moved to the Competitive Beach Training Program**
Spring Sessions provide opportunity for athletes to learn the differences between beach volleyball and indoor volleyball while they continue to learn and refine general volleyball skills that will help them in both the indoor and beach games.
May 21 - June 20, 2019 (10 days) | Tuesday and Thursday 4:00pm - 5:30pm

Summer Sessions continue the fundamentals while teaching players how to compete in a beach volleyball game and manage the elements as they have fun with friends!
June 25 - August 1, 2019 (10 days) | Tuesday and Thursday 4:00pm - 5:30pm

Players will learn technical fundamentals and tactical concepts including the following: Strategic Serving, Learning to Play in Wind, Rain & Sun, Communicating and Playing with Partners, Attack Efficiently to Score, Defend with Optimum Court Coverage. While these sessions are for individuals, partners are encouraged to attend as an opportunity to practice together. Below are the lead coaches of the program.
Christian Redmann
Played for 15 years on the FIVB World Tour, has won 2 Mens National Championships with different partners, is currently coaching Ben Saxton and Grant O'Gorman on the FIVB World Tour, at the World Championships with the goal of playing for a medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Christian will be designing all beach programs using his 15 years of professional playing experience and 15 years of coaching experience to provide the best opportunity for players to learn the skills and strategies of the game as well as its subtle nuances that you can only be exposed to and learn by playing and coaching at the highest level.
Maverick Hatch
Spending close to 10 years with the Beach Volleyball National team; now undertaking his advanced development coach certification (previously NCCP Level III) - Maverick is eager to give back to the beach community that has given him so much. Although Maverick will not regularly be seen on the beach he will be leading the way in program and practice plan development for all VVL Beach Volleyball programming.
Jared Krause
With over 17 years of experience on both the beach and indoor volleyball courts; having played professionally for over a decade, Jared now brings his knowledge and experience into a coaching role, and competes domestically on the beach volleyball circuit.
Jared is also the Head Coach of Pacific Coast’s 17u Boys team.

Location: Urban Beach, 900 Evans Avenue, Vancouver BC, V6A 2L2 (Terminal and 1st area) We will have access to 20 beach volleyball courts!
Age: 8-16 (no club-level experience needed)
Structure: Players will be divided on to courts based on a combination of age and level of play. Each day will provide all athletes (6-8 players per court.):
60 minutes of warm up and skill development
30 minutes of ladder play (teams play games, and move up or down courts pending the outcome of their game).
Inclement weather protocol: a decision will be made by 2pm and posted on the website if the daily session is cancelled. We will generally go unless there is very heavy rain or lightning. Due to the weather being out of our control no refunds will not be given for cancelled sessions

May 21 - June 20, 2019 (10 days)
Tuesday and Thursday 4:00pm - 5:30pm
$295 two days/week, $160 one day/week
